Recreation activities will get your student moving, playing, and developing social skills with classmates.

    HOURS OF OPERTION

A-3 meets Monday - Friday at the elementary school from 3:00 – 5:00pm. A-3 does NOT meet on school vacation days, half days, holidays, or snow days. A-3 will also be cancelled if all after school activities are cancelled, by the district. Youth will be sent home according to their regular “go home instructions”.

    Attendance policy

Youth are encouraged to attend the full two hours, five days per week to receive the greatest benefits. However, A-3 is able to work around other outside commitments. Please notify the coordinator of other commitments. This is not a drop in program that youth attend only when they feel like it. Youth who do not attend regularly do not get the full benefits we are trying to provide. Unpredictable attendance also creates a security risk for your student.

    Who may enroll in A-3?

Any youth in grades 3 through 8 at Canisteo-Greenwood may enroll. Applications are located in Elementary office, High School office or online  A-3 Registration Form. Return completed applications to office

    Who provides this programming?

The Site Coordinator creates the schedule and arranges for programming. School staff, partner organizations, and community members provide programming. High school and college student volunteers are encouraged to offer homework help and tutoring for students.

What if my child has to miss A-3 for any reason?

A note must be brought in and given to the respective office stating afterschool plans, so we can inform the transportation department of the change. You may also reach the Site Coordinator by email: dcook@cgcsd.org This will eliminate confusion and the potential for unaccounted students.

    SNACKS

A snack is provided at the beginning of program. It is a small snack and youth may bring additional food to be eaten at the beginning. Please, inform the Site Coordinator if your student has any food allergies!
