Ms. Smith

Welcome to Ms. Smith's Science Page.  Let me tell you a little about myself.  I am a graduate of Whitesville Central School.  I earned an AAS in Accounting at Corning Community College and a BSE from Mansfield University in Earth & Space Science and General Science.  In 2005, I earned my Masters' Degree from Mississippi State University where I majored in GeoScience.  I have been a teacher at Canisteo-Greenwood High School since September of 2001.  Before I came to CGHS, I taught Earth Science, Chemistry, and Math at Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean, NY.  When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to music and spur of the moment road trips to random places around the US.  My goal is to visit all 50 states.  This year I will be teaching Regents Earth Science and General Earth Science.  I am the adviser for Yearbook and co-adviser of the local chapter of the Junior Honor Society Grades 8/9.  In 2016, I was selected to participate in the New York State Master Teacher Program.  Recently, I spent three weeks traveling with 33 other teachers from across the country while participating in Texas A & M's G-Camp.  We traveled to Texas, Colorado and New Mexico hiking and studying all of the amazing geology in that part of the country. The picture to the left was taken at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico.
